Like many musi­cians today, I have a mod­est home stu­dio that I record in. Always keen to improve my record­ing skills, I was glad to stum­ble upon Home​Tracked​.com. It is a great blog main­tained by Des McK­in­ney which has lots of tips and tricks for get­ting the most out of your equip­ment, per­for­mance, and time. When the novice first embarks on the long trek of cut­ting demos, mas­ter­ing the bewil­der­ing array of tools and tech­niques seems insur­mount­able. It’s nice to know there’s help to get you record­ing on the right track (he-he), and Home­Tracked does an admirable job of this. Even if you’re an old hat at home stu­dio record­ing you could pick up a new tip or two. Remem­ber: Learn­ing is a life­long process.
