New Sci­en­tist has some inter­est­ing audi­tory illu­sions on their web­site. It is part of a spe­cial issue on music they put out some time ago. Unfor­tu­nately you have to sub­scribe to read the con­tent, but the illu­sions are up for every­one to hear. Diana Deutsch, a psy­chol­ogy pro­fes­sor at the Uni­ver­sity of Cal­i­for­nia acclaimed for her research into audi­tory illu­sions, has a page with some other inter­est­ing illu­sions, like this great write-up on the tri­tone para­dox. I would be inter­ested to lis­ten to songs that make inten­tional use of these sorts of illusions.
